WE NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!

Dear Supporters of the Coalition Against U.S. Foreign Military Bases,

We are reaching out to you to ask for your continued support of our activities in defense of peace and justice in our country and around the world.

Within less than a year since its foundation in July 2017, our Coalition has had tremendous achievements:

— We succeeded in creating a unified Coalition consisting of hundreds of peace, justice and environmental organizations that had never worked with each other before;

— We organized an extremely successful Conference on U.S. Foreign Military Bases on January 12-14 of 2018 at the University of Baltimore, Maryland, which was endorsed by over 250 peace, justice and environmental organizations from the United States and around the world;

— We organized an International Day of Action Against U.S. Occupation of Guantanamo around February 23rd, 2018, calling for the return of Guantanamo to its rightful owners: the people of Cuba;

— We initiated an international petition campaign demanding the acquittal of the arrested Okinawa anti-bases peace activists — Hiroji Yamashiro and his co-defendants — which collected close to 3,000 signatures from 50 different countries of the world.

— We called for and helped organize, together with about 400 organizations throughout the United States, the National Spring Days of Action 2018 to “End U.S. Wars at Home and Abroad” on April 14-15, in which rallies and demonstrations were held in six major U.S. cities — New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Oakland, California — with dozens of local demonstrations held in various cities throughout the United States.

We are very grateful to you for your generous support and active participation in all of these activities. But we are not going to stop here, and the struggle needs to continue.

— We have joined hands with the Poor People’s Campaign in their “A National Call for a Moral Revival!” to help expose the links between the U.S. wars abroad and people’s economic and social suffering at home.

— Our international campaign in solidarity with the struggles of people of Okinawa is continuing today. On April 23-28, a joint delegation representing our Coalition and the Veterans For Peace will be participating in a 500-person sit-in by Okinawa citizens at Camp Schwab in Okinawa, co-organized by 4 different organizations, including the Okinawa Peace Activities Center.

— Continuing on our efforts to close all U.S. and NATO military bases, we are planning a second, international, “Conference Against U.S./NATO Military Bases” to be held in November of this year in Dublin, Ireland (details to be announced shortly).

You are certainly well aware of the fact that none of these activities would have been, and would be in the future, possible without your generous support and contribution. A sustained level of activity can be maintained with a sustained source of support and funding, especially when we are dealing with activities of international scale like our planned Dublin Conference.

So, we are taking this opportunity to ask for your continued support, as you did in the past. We would greatly appreciate it if you could become a sustaining supporter of the Coalition by donating any amount that is comfortable for you on a monthly basis. This would guarantee us a continuous source of funding that is crucial for the planning of our activities and work.

Please use the Donate button on the right column to make a recurring monthly donation to our Coalition.

Your support will be most appreciated and will be used to advance the cause of peace and justice in the United States and around the world.

With our most sincere gratitude,

Coordinating Committee,

Coalition Against U.S. Foreign Military Bases
